Species of the tropical rainforest are being threatened everyday. Seven thousand square miles of the rainforest is lost destroying animals homes everyday thus leading many species to extinction. The lost land and animals are nearly impossible to reclaim. These animals could have been a cure for deadly diseases. With its lush variety of plants and animals we need more time to explore the diverse animals and plants, yet the clock is ticking and scientists are running out of time due to the destruction of our Earth’s beauty (http://www.idiotica.com/cranium/encyclopedia/content/rainforest.htm).
The rainforest is being cleared mostly to take advantage of its nutrient rich land for agriculture, due to an increase in the need for a supply of food. We need to find a better way to meet the world’s demand for food, and help the rainforest maintain its natural beauty (Terborgh par. 33,34).
